Christmas Appeal

šŸ™šŸ» Thank you for supporting our annual Christmas appeal.

šŸ’ All donations have been redistributed to the recipients.

šŸ‘Æ Thanks to you, no children will be waking up without a gift on Christmas morning.

šŸ„ŗ There is a misconception that we donā€™t have families living in poverty in our community.

šŸ“ˆ We do. The number of people who work and live in poverty increases every year. The financial impact of the pandemic has increased the need for working families to: use food banks, clothes banks, ask for help to replace white goods (white goods poverty is now a thing!), use high interest pay day loans, illegal money lenders or ask for help at Christmas time.

šŸ’· Commercial Christmas adds immense pressure to our finances. It should be about spending time together, but has become a competition of who got the most.

šŸ˜„ The charity sector across the UK has had to step up to meet the demand and support financial hardships.

šŸ™šŸ» We are here to help you - everyday.

šŸ„«šŸ› As a charity the donations we receive, whether they be for the food bank, the Christmas appeal or to help with our running costs - all stay local and benefit local families and the local community supported by SYCP. Lots of little donations when combined together can have a huge impact.

šŸ‘©šŸ¼ā€šŸ« Families are referred to us by local head teachers or external agencies who work with families in our area. They can also self refer. The support we give is 100% confidential. We never disclose the age, gender, location or any other information to the public that could identify the recipients when we run our appeals.

šŸ¤² Thank you to Sacriston Salvation Army, Langley Moor Salvation Army, Metro FM Cash for Kids, The Card Factory, B&M and local residents who have donated to or collected for the SYCP 2021 Christmas Appeal.

šŸ™ŒšŸ» Thank you to the PACT House Stanley for supporting our appeal by providing a free cooked Christmas dinner delivered to our recipients on Christmas day.

šŸ¤ If you are fed up and want to make a positive change in 2022, message the page. We have some fantastic fun wellbeing activities starting in the new year for both young people and adults and would love to support you to start making those changes.
