🌶️ This week we created a gorgeous Chinese style savoury rice dish (all in one pan which is great for the washing up) with a 4 ingredient honey chilli sauce.
👩🍳 This is a basic principle dish that you can swap and drop veggies in to, add a protein source such as beans, meat or fish … and change the flavour combination for a Thai, Mexican, Indian or Spanish inspired style.
📅 Every week we see the confidence and creativity growing, the children now arrive and follow the food hygiene and safety protocol without prompt, and some of them are only three years old!
❤️ We’ve also seen it become such a community, parents and carers sharing advice with each other, offering positive support and the children’s beaming faces when their new friends arrive ready to tackle the next foodie challenge.
🙏🏻 Thank you to our dedicated junior volunteers Olivia and Erin who enable the sessions to be ran so smoothly, without hindering the children’s independence and skills development. They’re becoming mini pro-chefs in their own right!
