👧 Step Up Sisters 👧
Tonight we had a session that focussed on how to maintain good mental health in difficult times; the news of the invasion of Ukraine has hit some of our young people hard.
We discussed:
✅ Recognising fake news
✅ Age appropriate news providers such as Newsround
✅ Managing our exposure to news or even taking a break all together
✅ Letting our parents and carers know if we are worried
✅ Mindful methods to relax
✅ Breathing techniques
✅ Grounding activities to remain present
✅ Identifying unhelpful strategies for coping
✅ Daily habits to good health
🎶 We also knocked out some tunes and played some games to finish our session with positivity, fun and laughter. 🎲
