The seniors spent their weekend on a residential stay at Dukeshouse Wood in Hexham.
🤩 We are a regular visitor to Kingswood Education Centre at Dukeshouse Wood. Their transformative residential breaks encourage young people to build confidence and resilience by taking on fun challenges. We always have a brilliant time and thankfully we had great weather this time too ☀️
The cost of the trip including transport and food was £104 per person. We were able to provide this 🆓 to everyone and fund the weekend from our summer activity budget thanks to financial contributions from Chester le Street Area Action Partnership and The JD Foundation 🙏🏻
😴 With the day starting with breakfast at 8am and activities until 9pm it was exhausting for our young teens 😬 (and staff 🛌)
The activities this weekend were:
👉🏼aeroball
👉🏼obstacle challenge
👉🏼laser tag
👉🏼climbing
👉🏼nightline
👉🏼leap of faith
👉🏼bouldering
👉🏼firelighting
👉🏼campfire
👉🏼3G swing
👉🏼archery
Lots of the seniors were scared of heights but once they’d had at least one go they were all very keen to try again.
Archery and bouldering were two activities that some of the group had never tried before, and all who had a go aced it!
💙❤️ Well done to everyone for conquering their fears and getting stuck in to all of the activities even when you were terrified and pushed out of your comfort zone, you are all amazing 💙❤️
